A driving, high-energy piece, The Fourth Horseman imagines the rise of the iconic character and his ride through the night. Based on a simple motif, the piece imagines a heroic attempt to keep the horseman at bay. Percussion represents the rider throughout. The winds represent the battle to thwart the Horseman's mission.

Moments of resolve, anxiety, and determination bring this imaginative narrative to life. The piece is framed by 13 strikes of the chimes and ends with the departure of the Horseman, unsuccessful in bringing forth the great conflicts his presence portends. The Fourth Horseman is an exciting piece for musicians and audiences alike, sure to stoke the imagination of all.
